Welcome to the new website for Sandpipers SSI

?Here are some new and some old activities to share:

Happy Hour
Our very popular Happy Hours, chaired by Janis Boster and Cathy Simprini, will begin in October.

Sandpipers Bowling!
Ute Sportschuetz has agreed to chair this monthly event and has arranged for us to meet at Strike Zone on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6 PM. The cost is $8 for at least one game and shoe rental. Don’t worry if your spouse wants to bowl and you don’t! Just come along for the fun. It’s been rumored (shh!) that some even play mahjong while their spouses bowl! Sandpipers Canasta and Hand and Foot!
There is a renewed interest in starting up a canasta group again and adding Hand and Foot for those who love that game. Co-Chairs, Nancy Renfroe and Bunny Gilles have reserved Vitality (formerly Thrive) on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 1 PM starting in October. They have everything that’s needed to play. If you would like to be on the canasta/hand&foot list, please email Bunny Gilles at bgilles8311@gmail.com.

Sandpipers Mahjong!
Our Mahjong group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at Vitality (formerly Thrive) at 12:30 PM. We currently have 28 members on the list and usually have 12 - 16 members on average attend. If you are not currently on the list and would like to be added, please contact Joanne DeVincenzo at jodehome@yahoo.com

Dining Out!
Sandy Anderson will be organizing this fun way to meet other members in small groups and enjoy a casual dinner together. The groups will meet 3 times over the course of the membership year.
Sandy will make up small groups of 6-8 people and appoint a host for each of those groups.The host will choose the restaurant and then contact everyone on the list to set a date and time. If you would like to be part of this activity please email Sandy Anderson directly at

And if that isn’t enough, we a few outings in the planning stages and hope to share them with you soon, thanks to our Activities Chairs, Laura Maddox and Karin Mills.
